If You Could Change Your Life by Reversing Your Biggest Regrets, Sorrows and Mistakes...Would You?

#1 New York Times bestselling author and renowned radio and television host Glenn Beck delivers an instant holiday classic about boyhood memories, wrenching life lessons, and the true meaning of the gifts we give to one another in love.

We weren't wealthy, we weren't poor -- we just were. We never wanted for anything, except maybe more time together....

When Eddie was twelve years old, all he wanted for Christmas was a bike. Although his life had gotten harder -- and money tighter -- since his father died and the family bakery closed...Eddie dreamed that somehow his mother would find a way to have his dream bike gleaming beside their modest Christmas tree that magical morning.

What he got from her instead was a sweater. "A stupid, handmade, ugly sweater" that young Eddie left in a crumpled ball in the corner of his room.

Scarred deeply by the realization that kids don't always get what they want, and too young to understand that he already owned life's most valuable treasures, that Christmas morning was the beginning of Eddie's dark and painful journey on the road to manhood. It will take wrestling with himself, his faith, and his family -- and the guidance of a mysterious neighbor named Russell -- to help Eddie find his path through the storm clouds of life and finally see the real significance of that simple gift his mother had crafted by hand with love in her heart.

Based on a deeply personal true story, The Christmas Sweater is a warm and poignant tale of family, faith and forgiveness that offers us a glimpse of our own lives -- while also making us question if we really know what's most important in them.

Piece Based On Books The Christmas Sweater
The Christmas Sweater is an amazing book it is full of emotions. I was amazed at how Brother Beck was able to capture what I have tried to for years. Thanks Gleen I am not a reader. However when I pick up a book and read it cover to cover in one sitting that is saying something for that book. BTW it has only happened once

I wanted to read a Christmas book this year as I do every year, so I chose The Christmas Sweater. This book was based on true accounts of the author, although there were fictitious parts to the story as well. The story was a pretty awesome read, although it was highly predictable. I love how the story made me feel everything, every loss, every heartache, the happiness and the sadness. A very emotionally written story. I think that best part of the book were the lessons to be learned, such as

Good setup to what could have been a good story, but it had a really weak ending and did an awful job at tying things together.

I am such a fan of Glenn Beck and was excited to buy this book on its release date. I also read it all on the same day. A compelling story that everyone can relate to and connect with on many levels. I'm giving it five stars; not because it is on the same level as many of the great works of literature but because it was so thought provoking. His spiritual insights touched me deeply and I hope that many will read this and really take it to heart. Now that would be a way to bring change to this

I rec'd this as a gift from my son and I could not put it down. I finished it in such a rush this morning that I have to go back and reread the last 3 chapters. It is a wonderful story of second chances, hope and the despair of growing up

I put this one on reserve at the library before Christmas, hoping it might come in in time to enjoy during the holiday season. It didn't but when it arrived in early January, I hoped it might be close enough to the holiday that I'd still enjoy the story and get the Chrismtas spirit all over again.I suppose if I'd read this story during the holiday season, it might have had a greater impact. Or I might have felt more forgiving of it since it's pretty clear from page one exactly where the story

All I can say is at least I didn't waste too much time reading this. The story was formulaic, the dialogue painful, and the writing lazy. The story is based on a personal experience, and it would have been a much better book if he would have simply told the real story instead of trying to embellish it to create a sense of pathos. While there is undoubtedly a good message, it comes across as a quick way to make a buck by preying on people's sentimentality this time of year.
