It frustrates me when characters keep secrets and then misunderstandings come from that. This book had a lot of that. Things eventually worked out, but it was frustrating to get to that point! I feel like I know these characters by book 3 and I want the best for all of them!! Looking forward to books 4 & 5.This book is so important to read in Christian fiction. Luke Baxter falls away from his religion, his familyeverything he grew up loving. Does he return? Does he find his way back to the person he was before the 9/11 attacks? Karen Kingsbury delivers yet another heart-breaking book about the Baxter family that showcases that Christians stumble. We arent perfect; we have flaws. But, we overcome these trials. And God is waiting for us to return. I loved this book. I definitely recommend it!
The baby of the Baxter family, Luke, has left his family and all he has ever believed. Can and will the 'prodigal son' return? One thing that I found to be 'painted' so clearly in this book was the fact that Luke has become a "free thinker"- think outside the box, do whatever feels right at the moment, if you want to be involved with more than one person at a time that's okay, let go of those 'archaic-religious-strangling' morals that you've been raised with. etc... Luke is adamant that his
This was a good comeback book for this series. I loved the first book, but the second book made me rethink reading them. This book really made me want to read the next. I'm excited to see where the characters go.
Return - Karen KingsburyJust finished Return, and my mind is spinning with questions about all the characters.I'm so involved in your books they feel like my family and I'm even dreaming about them.Karen your books are truly AMAZING.I cannot put them done...I have mommy chores to do and I say to myself just one more page but one more page becomes 20...I love your books so much.As soon as I dry my eyes...I gave Rejoice waiting for me to turn the pages.Thank you
This book focuses on Luke, the only boy in the Baxter family. In book #2, Luke was very quick to judge and say when someone was "right" or "wrong." In this novel, 9/11 has happened and has had an affect on everyone. Throughout the book, there is a big "secret" no one is aware of that has caused Luke to question and challenge everything he has ever believed in, including his religion. -After thinking he has lost Reagan forever, he quickly moves on to another girl and ends up living with her to
I read this book in one day. I really love this series! The Baxter family is just wonderful.
