Estella's magical life as an orphan was never easy, and at eighteen, she is finally free. In her desperate attempt to leave the city behind and unravel her strange talents, she flees to a secluded college nestled deep in the forests of the North Cascades. It is here that she hopes to escape her painful life, and forgotten past.

As classes begin, Elle struggles to find her place, until she meets Professor Edgar. Young, handsome, yet terrifying, Elle is suddenly intrigued. Despite her fear of him, she finds the strange attraction mesmerizing, dangerous, and somehow familiar.

As their acquaintance grows, she is suddenly drawn further into a life she never knew she lived, in a place that finally feels like home. As her happiness returns, so do the demons of her forgotten past. It is here that she finds herself faced with the sacrifice of her life, and the beginning of a journey deeply rooted in our existence.

Feather takes us into the darkest regions of our soul, into a world where we only dream to exist. Book one of the series introduces us to this new world, a place closely rooted in our dreams, and a place we ve all been. Begin the journey your soul craves, in a world where warrior's spring from the earth and magic is all around us.

Judgment Appertaining To Books Feather (Feather #1)
I found this book while surfing the kindle store on amazon and the cover caught my eye, id never heard of it before but decided id take a chance. I'm glad i did. A very emotional read. Abra Ebner has a way of writing where the style reflects the emotions of Estella. When Estella is feeling isolated and alone her writing takes on an almost clinical feel, but as the book progresses and Estella begins connecting and reaching out her writing becomes more personal and emotional. This really helps to

I am probably less than 100 pages from the end of this book...and I just cannot force myself to finish it. I really want to, the story is interesting, but I can't stay with it at this time. :(

UPDATE: After some research on Abra Ebners website i've lost respect for her as well as her book. She has dedicated parts of her website to openly bashing Stephanie Meyer, her novels, and her creative process. From where I sit Stephanie is not the one who should be ashamed here. Just a thought.I'm normally a pretty open minded person, but the similarities between this book and Twilight are just too much for me. And I only read 1/5 of the book. I could not force myself to endure any more of this

I was so offended by this book, I can't even...well, I can actually articulate it but seriously? Okay, let's begin this as we usually begin reviews, or rather as I do. By talking about the characters. In this instance, there are very few characters that can be talked about. Estella, Edgar, Estella foster mom, Scott and his diminutive girlfriend and the nurse that I can't for the life of me remember the name of.I have read a lot of books in my life, some I have loved and others I have hated. This

This is one of the best books i have read in a long time, i can't wait to read the next one. I definately recommend it.

While I am aware this is a self published title, so errors were to be expected, I really thought having it edited a few more times would have been much better. The story in itself was alright, it wasn't too original, what with the soulmates and all. I did like the positive/negative metaphor of there relationship. Edgar was very odd at times, and I got the feeling toward the end that Sam was coming onto her....I don't know, i also liked the changing into ravens part, but alas that is not as
