The Morganville Vampires, Volume 1 (The Morganville Vampires #1-2)
GLASS HOUSES
Morganville is a small college town in the heart of Texas that has its share of quirky characters - and some evil ones too. When student Claire Danvers moves off campus into one of Morganville's oldest houses, she finds that her roommates don't show many signs of life. But they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood.
THE DEAD GIRLS' DANCE
Claire Danvers has her share of challenges - like living among creatures of the night. On the upside, she has a great roommate (who tends to disappear at sunup) and a new boyfriend. Now a fraternity is throwing its annual Dead Girls' Dance and - surprise! - Claire and her equally outcast friend have been invited. When they find out why, all hell breaks loose, because this time both the living and the dead are ready to tear up the night.
Glass HousesThe Morganville Vampires is one of those series that everyone has been obsessing over for years, so I was of course a bit wary to read Glass Houses. I didnt want to be let down after all of the hype surrounding the series made me so excited to read it. But once I got that final push, I started Glass Houses and as each page was turned, I liked it more and more.Glass Houses is more what I would consider new adult instead of young adult. Though the main character is only sixteen, the
The best thing about this book (these books?) is that it deviates from all the common plot points that are becoming normal parts of so many YA books nowadays--there're no love triangles, a completely different take on vampires, and a dangerously mysterious town with a frightening hierarchy of species. Although Claire is a new type of protagonist, a bookish sixteen-year-old genius who's already a freshman in college, she definitely has pluck and a protective loyalty towards her friends and
The story takes place in a Texas small town Morganville, unbeknownst to outsiders, the town was secretly ran by vampires and humans were treated as second class citizens and bloodbank on two legs. The heroine Claire was a very smart 16 years old girl leaving home to study in an university next to Morganville, only to find herself the easy target of school bullies and worse, she was also being dragged into the troubles between vampires and humans in town. Luckily she wasnt alone, Claire found her
I have to be honest...I didn't like this nearly as much as I had hoped I would. Maybe due to the over-exaggerated hype. The first book was torture really but I didn't want to give up too quickly so I stuck with it to read the 2nd book which was in my opinion better than the 1st but still not mind blowing like I was told it would be. Bummed I didn't like it more but I'm not giving up. I have volume 2 on my shelf so I'll keep going if for no other reason than to see what happens to Shane and

In this book, history unravels itself in front Claire and her new roommates, Michael Glass, Eve Rosser, and Shane Collins. This first book of the Morganville Vampires series is definitely an eye catcher and will have you begging more. The
I love Rachel Caine! Her books are like brain candy. Igobble them up and can't get my fill! Perfect beach reads. I love the characters. I can't wait to spend 13 more books with them! I don't understand how I'm so late coming to this series. It's paranormal with vampires in Texas and a brainy girl facing off with all the supernatural I adore! So much happens and I'm always on the edge of my seat holding my breath! And the endings. Cliffhangers that make me grab the next book. The books are smooth
