Criticize Of Books Grave Secrets (Temperance Brennan #5)

So this book was kinda slow to begin with . But as you get a few chapters into it then it picks up and completely pulls you in! Im so looking forward to seeing which guy Tempe actually picks!



The idea of this story was good, but unfortunately I found the thing a bit disjointed in reading. I love Tempe Brennan, but does she do some stupid things for a highly intelligent lady. As always, I love the forensic and scientific detail that we get, but this fell a bit short of her best work for me.

Temperance Brennan has always been a btec Kay Scarpetta. The books are OK but feel a bit formulaic. You can see the maguffin emerging from the characters' carefully scripted expositionary chats ("OK, doc, give me the lowdown on Guatemalan history - the 5 minute version") In this case, we come across a plot involving stem cell harvesting in the wake of George W Bush's restriction of scientific research. Unfortunately, although the author appears to support research, she gives the key speech on

This was another pretty solid read from Kathy Reichs. I am very much in love with Temperance, even if she spends a lot of time telling us about the different fish dishes she's constantly eating. Grave Secrets was quite interesting in that it let us see a glimpse into her more academic work that goes beyond crime scenes, even if a crime scene inexplicably linked to where she lives/works eventually did show up. I appreciate the clear respect for other cultures Kathy has. This comes through really
